Inkworks is proud to announce the return of X-Files trading cards
for old and new fans alike. The
first all-new 90-card Inkworks X-Files release covers seasons four and
five and is part of a long-term program to bring fans up-to-date with
their X-Files trading card
collections. Additional
X-Files products will be released in October 2001 (Seasons 6 & 7)
and in 2002 (Season 8).
X-Files
Seasons 4 & 5 is packed with the most episodic coverage of any
X-Files trading card product ever produced.
Plus, in addition to episode summaries, the base set includes
behind-the-scenes information, mythology, paranormal creatures, and much
more.
“We’ve
listened to the loyal fans of X-Files and created a dynamic set that
packs in a lot of information and images in a format that will be fun to
collect,” says Martha Modlin, Executive Vice President of Inkworks.
“We’ve also inserted a wide variety of bonus cards that will
appeal to anyone who follows X-Files.”
In
addition to the base 90-card set, there will be several levels of bonus
cards:

I WANT TO BELIEVE – Three special foil puzzle cards. (Approximately 1:11 packs).

BLACK OIL – Six unique cards featuring a new printing
technology. The cards
have a special dimensional effect.
It appears as if a black alien substance is actually on the
surface of the card. (Approximately 1:17 packs).

PIECEWORKS CARDS – Each memorabilia card has
actual pieces of show worn wardrobe in the card.
The X-Files Seasons 4 & 5 set features pieces of a
sweatshirt worn by Mulder (David Duchovny) during the fifth season
of the X-Files.

AUTOGRAPHED CARDS – Chris Carter (Series Creator and Executive
Producer), Brendan Beiser (Agent Pendrell), Laurie Holden (Marita
Covarrubias), Jerry Hardin (Deep Throat), and Bruce Harwood (Byers
– Lone Gunman).

SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL CARDS – One in every sealed display box
and one in every sealed shipping case.

DEATH CARDS – A unique, previously unannounced
level of bonus cards has been inserted for loyal fans of the
X-Files. This
three-card series features replicas of the playing cards used by
character Nathaniel Teager in "Unrequited" (season 4,
episode 16) to announce his future victims.
Packs
of X-Files Seasons 4 & 5 have a suggested retail price of
$2.99. Each pack contains
nine cards with 24 packs per display box. Each display box is printed with holographic foil to enhance
the appearance and collectability.
In addition, Inkworks has produced a premium X-Files Collector
Album that has also been enhanced with holographic foil stock, which
creates an prismatic illusion.
